Paris may be the home of couture, but in recent years, it’s Lebanese designers who’ve been wowing the crowds when it comes to fairy-tale princess dresses.
With Elie Saab, Zuhair Murad, and Reem Acra leading the way, the creations often share similar design DNA, with a focus on extravagant silhouettes, intricate embroidery, and heavy embellishment on layers of soft chiffon, organza, net, and tulle.
This season, our attention has turned to Ziad Nakad. Though he’s been in the industry for 20 years, it’s only recently that the designer has brought his couture creations to Paris and truly hit the world stage. Inspired by flowers and butterflies, his Spring/Summer 2017 runway is one for anyone with a pastel-hued Pinterest board and an obsession with Disney princesses.
